Mental Health & Performance Support for Sport, Work, and Life

UNLOCK YOUR

Most people eventually reach a place where something has to shift.

In sport, in life, or in both.

There comes a point when pushing harder stops working. Anxiety may become more persistent. Mood can dip. Confidence feels less steady. Discomfort shows up and becomes harder to stay with — whether during training, competition, after an injury or loss, or in the midst of a broader life transition.

These experiences don’t mean something is wrong with you. They reflect the reality of sustained demand, change, and growth.

At Unlocked Counseling, I support adolescents, athletes, and adults navigating the mental and emotional demands of sport, work, and life. While the majority of my practice is with athletes, my work is also appropriate for anyone navigating change, transitions, identity shifts, anxiety, or mental health challenges. People seek support for many reasons — from anxiety and emotional overwhelm to confidence challenges, mood changes, life transitions, or feeling blocked when it matters most — and sometimes simply because something feels off or unsustainable.

My approach sits at the intersection of mental health and performance. Rather than pushing through or trying to eliminate anxiety, we focus on understanding what’s happening, skillfully working with discomfort, and developing psychological flexibility — so you can respond more effectively in daily life and perform with steadiness under pressure.

Unlocked Counseling is a therapy practice supporting both mental health and performance-related challenges.

At Unlocked Counseling, I support people in moving through anxiety, stress, and self-doubt so they can feel more grounded and confident in what matters most.

My work is grounded in a strong clinical mental health foundation and informed by sports counseling and performance work. Performance shows up in many forms. Whether you’re an athlete, a student, a professional, or navigating a challenging season of life, our work together focuses on building resilience, breaking through mental blocks, and reconnecting with your goals, motivation, and sense of purpose—in sport, relationships, work, and life.

WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING

“Christy is in a unique position to understand the deep connection mountain athletes have with their sports”

Eighteen months ago I had a stroke while on a training hike near my home in Almont, Colorado. The experience wreaked havoc with every aspect of my life. Fortunately, I met Christy on the journey to regaining the ability to do the outdoor things that I love- skiing, mountain biking, paddleboarding, hiking, and trail running. Christy is in a unique position to understand the deep connection mountain athletes have with their sports and the physical and mental challenges that stand in the way of performance when dealing with injury. I cannot thank her enough for helping me regain confidence and overcome my fears, not just in the outdoors but in my life as well.
