Mental Health counseling & Performance Support for athletes and high performers

UNLOCK YOUR

Most athletes reach a point where effort alone stops being enough.

Anxiety becomes harder to manage. Confidence feels less steady. Recovery takes longer emotionally than physically. Or training, performance, and daily life start to feel misaligned.

These experiences are not signs of weakness. They often reflect the cumulative impact of pressure, injury, transition, and sustained demand over time.

At Unlocked Counseling, I provide therapy and sport performance coaching for athletes navigating anxiety, burnout, injury recovery, and identity challenges that affect both performance and daily life. I work with athletes across all levels, including high school, collegiate, competitive, recreational, and masters athletes.

My work integrates evidence-based mental health treatment with performance psychology to support emotional steadiness, resilience, and psychological flexibility under pressure.

At Unlocked Counseling, I support people in working through anxiety, stress, and self-doubt so they can feel more grounded, steady, and confident in what matters most.

My work is grounded in a strong clinical mental health foundation and informed by experience in athlete mental health and performance psychology. I specialize in working with athletes navigating anxiety, burnout, injury recovery, and identity challenges, helping them build resilience, work through mental blocks, and reconnect with motivation, direction, and sense of self during periods of stress, transition, or recovery.

WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING

“Christy is in a unique position to understand the deep connection mountain athletes have with their sports”

Eighteen months ago I had a stroke while on a training hike near my home in Almont, Colorado. The experience wreaked havoc with every aspect of my life. Fortunately, I met Christy on the journey to regaining the ability to do the outdoor things that I love- skiing, mountain biking, paddleboarding, hiking, and trail running. Christy is in a unique position to understand the deep connection mountain athletes have with their sports and the physical and mental challenges that stand in the way of performance when dealing with injury. I cannot thank her enough for helping me regain confidence and overcome my fears, not just in the outdoors but in my life as well.
